Change your music= Better Results?
Whether you listen to Rock, Rap, House or Pop music could make either a positive or negative impact on your performance and/or hormones during exercise.
Studies have indicated that during high intensity exercise, higher cortisol levels were associated with faster music. However in terms of performance and motivation, untrained subjects reported more positive affect compared to trained subjects while listening to fast music during both low and high intensity exercise.
Authors suggest that music tempo and heart rate / exercise intensity should be in sync in order to produce positive benefits. Another statement was that it deemed advantageous for the rhythm of the music to approximate the motor patterns of the workout.
Below I have posted a couple of random tracks I personally listen to from Rock to Rap.
